Child Care

Early Child Care & Development in Valparaiso and Chesterton, IN

Wee Care Child Development Center, located in Valparaiso and Chesterton, Indiana, offers innovative child care and development programs that maximize hands-on activities in specially designed learning centers. While structured, the curriculum encourages each child's creative expression to its fullest. Our Valparaiso location is for children between the ages of 1 and 12 and our Chesterton location is for children between the ages of 2 and 12.

Low Child-Teacher Ratios

We believe that lower child-teacher ratios are safer and more conducive to learning. Our preschool follows the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) ratio standards. We feel that our staffing directly affects the quality of care that we provide. Wee Care Child Development Center is a more enjoyable environment for the children and staff because of this low ratio.
Wee Care Child Development Center works hard to keep our classrooms well-equipped. It is important to have all of the necessary tools to run a quality program. We are constantly looking for new grants and programs to help us do this so that we do not have to pass this cost on to parents.

Our preschool believes that when used properly, computers play an important part in the development of children. At Wee Care Child Development Center, the computer is not a substitute for TV but a tool to be used for learning.

Meals

Meals are an important part of our curriculum. Because we participate in the Federal Food/Nutrition Program, we are able to serve fresh fruit, baked chicken, and other healthy choices. We want the children to learn the importance of healthy eating habits.
Breakfast is served at 7:00 a.m., and a snack at 9:00 a.m. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m., with a snack at 2:30 p.m. If treats are brought from home, they must be commercially prepared or individually packaged. If you are subsidizing your child's lunch or bringing food from home for them, please see the Director for the necessary paperwork so that this can be accommodated.
